Lightning_256Castalia House has put in a good showing at this year’s Conservative-Libertarian Fiction Alliance Book of the Year Award, taking both first and third place.

Peter Grant takes the prize with Brings the Lightning. Congrats, Peter! (For behind-the-scenes details about how the book was put together, check out Scott Cole’s interview with Peter here.)

Second place goes to Monster Hunter Memoirs: Grunge by John Ringo.

John C. Wright’s Iron Chamber of Memory comes in at third. (Note that my review is here… and a link roundup of commentary is here.)

Congrats, y’all!

Congratulations to Mr. Grant, and Castalia House. Who could have anticipated a Western winning an award in 2017, and, published by Castalia House to boot? I’m actually reading the 2nd Ames Archives installment by Mr. Grant right now; Rocky Mountain Retribution.

Kudos to Mr. Wright for a third place finish. The Iron Chamber of Memory was where my vote went.

  • I want to read Brings the Lightning. I don’t think I have ever read a Western. I read Wright’s book and sadly didn’t enjoy it as much as I expected, but found the prose excellent.
