Happy Birthday Leigh Brackett!

Today is the 103rd Birthday of fictioneer, screenwriter, and Queen of Space Opera, Leigh Brackett!

Jeffro Johnson’s look at Brackett during his famed Appendix N Survey:

Jeffro also did a post on her for her centennial.

My own reviews of Brackett:

Last year, we also exposed the lie that Leigh Brackett hid her gender behind her name with the smoking gun of pulp editors correcting someone who referred to Brackett as “he”:

Here, HP talks the Stark Ace Double, and here, PC Bushi talks about Leaning Into Leigh Brackett.

All Hail the Queen of Sword & Planet!!!

The Sword of Rhiannon is my favorite LB novel, but this idea of an illustrated collection of Stark is great!

    Illustrated Leigh Brackett?!? Holy S#!t!

    Brackett is awesome. Still.

And we have the old, Planet Stories cover re-imagined. But with a Stark that more closely resembles Brackett’s description. Perhaps, we can hope for “Lorelei of the Red Mists” after the Stark run?
